I have been working on this now for a few days! I did get far! I have page 2 finished, as of 2/09/2012. this is a picture of the updated sampler, what it should look like when I am finished, with Andrea and Glenn's wedding date added. I do want to get this finished now.

On The Home Front

We are having a party for my dad, he will be turning 85 on the 15th of February! So this weekend we will be getting together, I am hoping all of us can be there, it's not everyday you turn 85!

I am very surprised at myself as to how far I got, I know to some of you it doesn't look like much, but being a mood stitcher (when I'm in the mood to stitch) somehow I don't have the mood to stitch everyday! I started working on this, a few years back, my husband picked this out for Andrea, at the time, she wasn't going out with anyone special, but since Joe passed away, I thought I would still get this done for her, she found the man of her dreams, last February 2011, and got engaged in March, and married in September of 2011. I didn't have time to get it finished! This is what it looked liked as of, the last time I worked on it was sometime back in October of 2009.

When I started back on it in January of 2012

This is where I am as of February 5, 2012 I am hoping to get this done by her First Anniversary! I still have another Wedding Sampler to get started on for my nephew's wedding this coming September, his is going to be a Wedding Tree, from Nouveau Encore Designs, I want to start that soon... So a drum roll....this is where I am at now! It doesn't look like much, but to me it does!

As of February 5, 2012

I would still work on this but I am getting bored with it at the moment, so next on the list will be my 40th Anniversary Sampler (August of 2012), now a Memorial Sampler to my husband, sad to say after he passed away in March of 2010, I couldn't work on it for a whole year. I worked on it for a few weeks in October of 2011, this is where I left off, page 2 of 12!

Last Week!!!!

I always wanted to try to make some Q-Snap covers, so last week I made one! It didn't come out too bad,
this is the back side.

This one fits the 8x8 size Q-Snaps. I am working on an 11 x 11 one next.

This is for the 8x8

Supplies needed are:

cotton fabric - 33 x 7 inches

elastic - 2 pieces of 1/4 inch elastic cut to 17 inches each

thread, safety pin, scissors, iron, sewing machine, 5 minutes

First I cut the fabric into a 33 x 7 inch piece. Then pressed under 1/4 inch seam allowance on each long edge. I then folded this over again, making a 3/4 inch pocket on each side and pressed again. You can always make the width wider if you have a lot of fabric.

Next sew a pocket onto each side of the fabric

Next cut two pieces of elastic, each 17 inches long and attach a safety pin to one end.

Thread the safety pin through the pocket.....and attach elastic to end of pocket by sewing in place...

after threading remainder of elastic through pocket, secure elastic at opposite end.

Thread elastic through other pocket and secure both ends

Now join both ends together to form the cover and sew together

I have been working on a few of my UFO's, hoping to get them finished this year, at least a few! I did start on a Lizzie Kate they other day called 'Forgive Quickly' I want to give this to Andrea, she is always telling me that I give everything I make to David and Amanda!

On the Home Front!

Isabella has to go in for another Angiogram on Monday Morning, she has had 4 open heart surgeries since she has been born, she is 5 now, if you can keep them in your prayers, that everything with her heart looks good! She runs around and does everything a normal little girl does, but we can't' see the inside till this test is done. The last time she got an infection after the test was done in her blood system. so we are hoping for not a repeat.

I worked on my "Rules for Life" this pass week, this is a SAL from Kincavel Krosses. I did manage to put in a few stitches! I am hoping to at least to get this one finished soon! I think I would of had a lot more done.....but I needed to get the Beautician Tree finished by Jan 3, when David came to pick me up to babysit while they were at work and school! I never worked so hard to get something finished and framed!

I have gotten the "Beautician Tree" finished for my DIL in time, she has finished school! I am so proud of her! She finished school Jan.6, 2012!

This year was the same as last year....we went to my brother, Tom's for Christmas, I would love to have Christmas, but we don't have that much room to park by us, so every year some one takes a turn at Christmas! Tom had it 2 years in a roll.

2 of the 5 Christmas Gifts are finished

Megan's Christmas gift!

This is a gift for my Godchild. The feet are small plastic ornaments, she loves the color purple! I just wish I could have finished the rest of the Christmas gifts that I had planned to do this year, but I was in a slump for a few months and didn't want to stitch! Shame on me. Hoping the New Year will be better! I want to try very hard to get my Personal Sampler at least half way finished! I am finding it a bit easier now to work on it, since it was to be a gift for my husband on our 40th Wedding Anniversary. I also have 2 wedding samplers to finish, that are wedding gifts for next year!

This is page 2 almost finished.

I had to wait because the person who designed this for me added Andrea and Glenn's wedding date. Now to just get my butt in gear and stitch!

Bridge t~ Name*Flake

I got the Name*Flake finished for a new member in our family...the wedding is set for September 22, 2012! Just need to turn it into an ornament later today! I didn't have purple beads on hand, but I did have light pink ones, so when it came time to attach them I used, dark purple floss, made them look Purple! I only had a matte color purple for the small snow flakes, which worked out well..I hope she likes it!

I am working on 3 different name*flakes at the moment, 2 are for Miranda, one for her mom and one to sent to her Dad's, Yes, I am being nice as to making one for his tree, even though he is taking Andrea to court for unfit mother! The other is for my nephew's new wife, well almost new wife wedding is set for September, 2012. I wanted her to have one that matched his! Picture will come soon!

The tree is up! I didn't even want to put one up this year, I have been in a very nasty mood, and I hoping that my mood will change soon I plan on doing Christmas shopping on Monday so we will see!

Within the past week, the roof was replaced, had 4 layers of roofing paper on there, we were very lucky that the roof didn't cave in with the snow from last year! The heat went out, if the guy was to come out that evening at 8:00PM the cost was going to be $150.00 just to come out, and if it needed a part that would have been extra, so we waited till the morning and the cost was half, with the part that we needed, came to the cost of the visit after hours, just wore extra clothes to bed! Luck it wasn't that cold during the night! The last was yesterday when a pipe broke under the kitchen sink! Well, everything is now fixed! I am so waiting for this year to end, with the trouble that David had with his cars and still and the work that we needed on the house, I'm ready for the new year!

I'm getting bad!

Well, I have another finish! I got 'Witches Brew' done and framed! It's from Veeandco and I just love it! It was sad, that I didn't get it done till after Halloween! I had trouble counting! It seems that the frog had me tired down for a while, he just didn't want to leave!

I had used a spider web for the frame, sewed green sheer spider fabric with black fabric behind it on the back, I was going to use the black web fabric, but the spiders just seemed to fit the web better!

I have so many UFO's that have to be finished, and the mood for stitching, just seems to fly out the window, it's like i'm roping cattle to get my mind roped back to the stitching mode!

I got my order from 'Dovestitch' I love the fabric, and it can be washed in cold water. The purple plaid, I am going to use for my grand daughters name trees, and the orange plaid, is going to be used for my 'm-design' Halloween tree! The other I don't know yet! Can't wait to get started and have another UFO!

I pulled it back out and started working on it again when I was at my stitching weekend! The picture is a little dark. So, now I can say that page 2 is almost finished, a few more letters and than a little design and I can start page 3!!

An update on "Rules for Life" I love the colors on this, I was going to give it to one of my kids, but I will have to make them another one, I love this one too much!

Turned out to be a beautiful day!

The day came and went without anything major happening! She looked beautiful! I'm not just saying that because she is my daughter, but I believe every Bride looks beautiful on their wedding day! It rained for a bit, the sun came out, and we had a good time!

I am so happy that everything worked out! I was very tired after the wedding, I enjoyed myself also, my feet hurt from dancing, on a thought, I was just wondering....why do you get new shoes for a wedding?

Mostly everyone had them off to Dance! Even the little girls!

I am going away for the weekend for a stitching weekend with some stitching friends to stitch the weekend away in Arlington Heights, IL which is about an hour and a half from where I live, I never have been to one before so this should be fun!

This is a model stitch I worked on for Vee, I framed it on a Pumpkin, something different then in a frame. I am just hoping that it will stay in the house and my grand daughters don't want it!

I put my Witches hat on a Pumpkin also! Had a hard time trying to figure out a way to hang it with the broom! Two spiders for his eyes and a bat for his mouth!

Well, the wedding is Friday the 30th of September! I will post some pictures! I believe I have everything ready! If not too bad!

This was finished in 2006, I didn't know how I wanted it framed, so I put it away, till last week when I went to Michaels, and I saw a Witches Hat, picked up some feathers, all I had to do was paint it black and glue on the feathers. Black Hat Society is from Sue Hillis. Next I want to get finish 'My Other Car is a Broom' by Lizzie Kate, that one will be framed on a broom! Halloween is coming and I just love it, my favorite are the Witches!

I had a wonderful time on vacation, I went to to Camdenton, MO in the 'Lake of The Ozarks'! Besides

Dorothy teaching me to Quilt, and by the way she did like the 'Quit Cabinet' that I made for her. We went to 'Casa De Loco' Winery for lunch, Casa de Loco has been nominated to the National Register of Historic Sites, and after you’ve read all about how the property went from an exclusive fishing resort to the “house of the crazy”, you’ll see why! Some of the caves have tables and chairs where you can enjoy a bottle of wine and the view! They were very busy and short of help that day, and very hot! We did do some wine tasting, and I brought some home, very strange names on the wine! Those are the two that I brought home with the glass!

The wine was very good!

Can you imagine 2 post in one month from me.....something must be wrong!!

Dogwood Wedding Sampler. This is a picture of what I am working on right now.

Here is how far of the sampler I got, not too much further, then the 3 lines done before I put it away, and I haven't been working on it, I wanted to get the Quilt Cabinet finished. I hope to get this one finished also for Andrea. We will see how fast I can stitch!

I am so happy with the way this turned out! Just love the colors of the matts! When they showed me the colors, I looked at it and told the guy, if you think this will look good let's go for it, you should know what you are doing! I left the place with my head spinning...what if it looks nasty then what do I do? This is going to be a shower gift for Andrea! She doesn't know that it's framed yet, she said she would have to wait another 9 years to get it! Wait till she see this!

This was added to my screen house! I think this bear is cute!

Isabella, Josephina and me, Josie was eyeing my beer! The girls are sure getting big.

Miranda was over for the day, she loves to blow bubbles, so she said she was blowing them to heaven for Grandpa Joe, he loved blowing bubbles with her. Before I knew it she had this look on her face, what can I get into! We sure miss her here!

Within seconds she said 'Catch Grandma!'

What saved me was that the bottle was empty! She thought it was very funny!

I have been baby sitting the 2 girls, but not so much this month, which gave me more stitching time or me time to do nothing! I do miss babysitting the girls, next month I will take Miranda with me to spend the night and play with Isabella. They should have fun!

That time went fast, she is a happy little girl!

Miranda Graduated from PreK...She was so happy, she didn't like school, I didn't have the heart to tell her she had many years to go yet!

One morning Isabella wanted to pick out her own clothes, she settled on this outfit after she had on a few! I just love the necklace!

Update on Quilt Cabinet, Life and whatever!

I have an update on my Quilt Cabinet, I am just hoping that I get it finished and framed before July! I don't have much time to stitch since I babysit 2 days a week. I did some changes to this, that is I changed the floss from DMC to Sullivans Floss, in a way I do like it, but to me the colors do not seem as bright as DMC or Anchor, or that could be me. I do like working with it.

News on the Home Front!

Andrea had gotten engaged 2 weeks ago, she is very happy and so am I! Glenn is a wonderful man, who loves her and Miranda! The wedding is September 30, 2011! Talk about a short engagement! I don't have much time to get the wedding sampler done, Joe had picked this one out for her about 6 years ago, I had started it, and put it away, so now I am going to try to get it finished for her! I think it will have more meaning to her, I have been told, since Joe picked it out for her.

Quilt Cabinet

This is a update on my Quilt Cabinet, I can't wait to get it finished, my girlfriend will love it! I can't wait to give it to her in July, I try to work on it a little each day, try is the big word here, didn't get any new stitches in this weekend! With Easter, and the cooking I had and cleaning! Wanted to make sure the house looked good, Andrea had her new boyfriend here for dinner. First time.

I found out that I can't get everything done when I babysit, I find it even harder to read, the girls keep me busy! I come home and just too tired! This is from Linen Flowers. My Short Trip to The Smoky Mountains

On February 18, 2010, I took a very short trip with my niece, Sarah, to KY and the Smoky Mountains our first stop was to pick up my other niece Dana, who lives in KY.

This was the only Black Bear I saw!

We had a wonderful time, I love the Smoky Mountains, I have been there many, many times. We stayed in Gatlinburg. Being the weekend we knew it was going to be busy, but we didn't know about the Church of Christ Conference for kids, a dance competition, a state Cheerleading Championship! It was wall to wall people! We still had fun. We walked down main street, looking in all the shops, eating BBQ, & people watching! They had free tasting of Homemade Moonshine, a bit powerful! The Mountain tops still had snow on them, and some of the roads in the park where still closed. We did a little hiking, easy trails for me. The mountains steams and waterfalls, were beautiful!

Very sad to say but I am so far behind, I babysit 2 days a week for David and Amanda, the girls keep me running! I have so much to finish for this year, 3 wedding gifts and a 60th Birthday Gift. I have 4 Weddings in the family this year!

Winter Storm

Here are a few pictures of the storm that hit our area on February 1, 2011. We had Thundersnow, never heard it before, with Lightning. Andrea went out that night to start to shovel up the 4 inches that fell the day before, while it was starting to snow. You couldn't tell the next morning, blowing snow, drifts, snowed in cars! We waited till the snow stopped that afternoon to venture out to shovel! What a Blizzard, but if I wanted a blizzard, I would have went to Dairy Queen. We had 20.9 inches at Midway Airport, but the official count came from O'Hare Airport which was 20.2 inches. As we were trying to shovel out the winds were still blowing! We went out twice to get the shoveling done, there was too much snow to finish it all at once and beside that the snow was too heavy! They are calling for more snow on Sunday! Hoping it won't be that much!

Wedding Crown of Crystal

Last summer I gave my niece my wedding crown, filled to the brim with Crystal. I saved my crown, because way back then I know my Grandmother paid a lot for it, my mom was trying to get me to pick out something else, but I was set on that crown, and my Grandmother, knew I loved my crystal way back then. My Mom and Grandmother were wonderful! I asked her if she would be able to take the crystals off, and make me a necklace for my 40th Wedding Anniversary. I told her no hurry, she had 2 years, little did I know that the time would be cut short. Last Sunday she came by, with everything that she made, I even have a few extras that I might add to my Memory Sampler. I couldn't believe she got all these pieces from the crown, must have been a lot of beads! I now have a wonderful remembrance of that day! Sarah did a wonderful job. She has designed many pieces. I just love these pieces, and I have a few weddings to go to this coming year, knowing that Joe will be with me when I wear them makes me happy! You did a good job Sarah! I can't thank you enough!

I thought I would have gotten further on this then I did...the problem was...the frog came to visit and the flowers on the top had to be started over! All those purples were giving my eyes a problem they all looked the same! The picture on top is what it will look like when finished! I will do another post later today as to what I will be working on next.

First UFO Finished!

I have my first UFO finish! "Love" is a wedding gift, I have a few months before I need it framed, and I have another "Love" to finish, don't need that one yet, so I might work on that one in June. I will be starting on "Hope" today, work on that for a week, and then start another one, which at the moment I think might be "Tenderness" or "Fairy Grandmother"

This is the first of the 13 UFO's that I would like to get finished, it's "Love" by: San Man, I have 2 of them started. I had the side done, when I got to the corner and had to frog, because the corner was off! So I had to recount and restitch! I am only going to work on my UFO's a week at a time, before I get bored with them again! I will post an up date after the week, so on Monday the 10th will be an up dated photo!

Nuthouse is finished!

I have the "Nuthouse" finished, this is a gift for my son and DIL, I know that they will love it! This is a close up view, I sprayed a finish on all the nuts that I used, so in years to come, they will still be in tack. I have my shopping done, still no Christmas Spirit! Christmas will be at my brothers house this year. They are 25 of us when we all get together! Each one of us crazier then the next one! Short post this week.....Everyone have a Very Merry Christmas!

A very dear friend of Joe's and mine, called the other day, I call him my "conscious", he always knew what I was thinking, going to do, and what I was going to say....he is a good friend! We talked for a while, talked about the crazies that we did on and before Christmas, before we had our children, how when I first met Joe, how he was into tools way back then, that he wanted a screw driver set, not just any kind of screw drivers, but a set for left handed people, well being in High School and not knowing about tools, I went to Sears, looked through all the tools, couldn't find a " Left Handed Screw Driver Set" so I ask for help! I had the whole department laughing, the person went on the inform me that all screw drivers are the same! I was mad as hell, got home and called him, told him what the person said, and all I heard on the other end of the phone, was a jolly laugh! I knew at that point if I was going to be going out with Joe, I had to stay one step ahead of him! That weekend when we met with friends they all wanted to know about the Left Handed Screw Driver Set! I had told my kids about that story, one that I did forget about, David couldn't believe that I asked for that screw driver set, but he said knowing how his dad was, he might have done the same thing! I had friends come and ask me when we were first married, that life must have been very funny with Joe! I got in my funnies with him also, but life was good! I can now go back and have a few laughs, I still miss him a bunch! I know he is still there with me, just can't see him or feel his touch. We talked about Christmas this year, how I feel, and how I didn't want Christmas this year, how he said, Joe will be there with me, the girls, the kids, each one of us in our hearts. Our memories of Christmas, will always be there, each in a special way. I can treasure my best memories of Joe. It will be hard, and tearful, I do think I can make. It will be another first, little steps at a time.

This is Isabella's Name*Flake, just 4 years old, I started and finished it the day she was born! But never framed or finished in a way that I wanted! Sad, because I have a few more projects like that! I don't know why it takes me so long to figure out what I want to do with them!

So this is what I came up with!

I have been working on my Personal Sampler, and I pulled out "Hope" I need to put a few more stitches into that. I have some sewing to do, need to get done before Christmas.

As for the Christmas spirit? I have always loved Christmas, a favorite of Joe's also. And I just can't find the enthusiasm to do it. This will be my first Christmas without Joe. I've gotten the tree up, I haven't even begun to put everything out, just not in the mood this year, Miranda wants more decorations up, so I'm hoping maybe Andrea will help and get some up for her. I'm just not into it yet, they say the first of everything the first year will be hard, this will be the hardest one, along with his anniversary date. I did get page one done of my Personal Sampler, and half of page 2, just 10 more to go. I am trying for a page a month, but we will see how that goes. I have now turned this into a Memorial Sampler for Joe, his date of death has been added, also the birth date of Josephina, he was looking forward to his new Grand daughter.

I did get the last of Joe's patches sewn on the Quilt, that my girlfriend had put together for me, I did sew the binding by hand around the Quilt. Joe was a big Bears Fan!

My nephew, who is in 8th grade, this year, plays football, asked if he could request Joe's number 77, when he played football this year! I was thrilled! So for Christmas I made him a wall hanging of the front side of Joe's Jersey, I used the back for the Quilt, I am thankful that Joe was a saver! I'm back from my little trip, I enjoyed the train ride to Missouri, the ride from Chicago to St. Louis was very boring! When I got on the train from St.Louis to Jefferson City, what a change! It was beautiful! The train traveled along the Missouri River! While I was there we worked on Joe's T-shirt Quilt, I was going to help Dorothy sew them, but the tears where filling up in my eyes and I couldn't see what I was trying to sew. I did sew all the blinding around and when I got home sewed the extra patches. I wanted to take it home with me but with my clothes, it just couldn't fit in the suite case, so...I sent my clothes home UPS! The Quilt at that point did fit!We had a beautiful sunrise while I was there, one of the best I had seen in a long time! We took a ride to Branson, walked around there for the day and then went to Lambert's Cafe.."Home of the Throwed Rolls"! I did catch one! The food was very good and go hungry! Will post more on the vacation later. This is Dorothy and I in Branson. If Isabella's birthday party on Sunday, was an advanced warning of how the holidays are going to be....I should have stayed in my hole in Missouri,(visiting friends) I'm not handling this good right now, and then on top of it my dad doesn't want to go anywhere for Thanksgiving, he wants me to cook, my sister doesn't even want to cook, she wants to come here for dinner...the why I see it I will throw turkey sandwiches at everyone of them they don't like it too bad, maybe I'll stay drunk from now till the end of New year's to deaden the pain! This hit me yesterday afternoon while I was at David's like a lead balloon! God, I hate the Holidays, I wish I was dead. I thought this was going to get better! I should be at a point of good Grief right now,(maybe I was, then the word "holiday" came) accepting the fact that Joe has died, the sorrow and pain, I should be able to get me through the days, the months, and, eventually, through the years. I even try to write almost everyday, thought, I might be able to get unstuck in grief. I write all the positive experiences I can remember with Joe. Hoping one memory will lead to another, now I am stuck with these NASTY HOLIDAYS! It's like I'm frozen in place, I feel like I am trapped in a prison of my own making. Yeah, I know I just found my answer.( My own Making) I still want to wake up when they are over! I am now back to the point that I am pissed at him for dying, for leaving me alone for the rest of my life. I thought that Quilt I made with my friend in Missouri would help...It did, till Sunday, I put it back in the bag, don't think I can put it on my bed yet. I have been a crying fool since Sunday.

This is my fished and framed UFO from EMS it was a freebie that I started last year. It's a gift for a friend, who loves Daisies! I have a few more UFO's to finish, but they are big projects! So I think after Christmas, I am going to pulling one out and try to finish it! This is the side view, I used a artist oil canvas, to frame this, put fabric on the back and sides, and ribbon around it! I am leaving for The Lake of the Ozarks, Camdenton, MO on Sunday, I have a lot to get done, I need to pack, get some stitching together, a couple of books, enough to keep me busy on the 7 hour train ride! Make sure the house is clean for my dad, that him, Andrea and Miranda has enough to eat, while I'm gone. It's going to be another 2 week vacation! Joe and I went to the Ozarks twice a year to visit our friends, now I am going by myself, we have known these friends for 40 years, a very dear friendship!

I have it finished now, I don't think I will have time to get another Halloween stitched before I leave on my trip to the Lake of The Ozarks, when I get home I have a few Ornaments that need to get finished, and sent out. A few Christmas gifts need to framed and sent out also. I thought doing some of this would help me get through Christmas this year, so far, it's not working. I still haven't figured out what happen to my white floss why it looks like two different shades. This is the side view. This is from Vee. I worked outside on Saturday, putting away the chairs and covering the tables, taking out the plants, now I know why Joe and I both did it, a lot of work for one person to do.

A Halloween Finish

Halloween finish, it's from Vee, now I need to figure out how I want to finish this, I did want to put it on a sweatshirt for Miranda, but by next year, it just won't fit her. So I am thinking maybe a No Sew Cube. Don't know if I will get another Halloween done, before that spooky day. I have to get a few Christmas Ornaments done, before the 15th of November.

My Girls

I babysat Isabella and Josephina over the weekend, they are growing so fast, hard to believe that Josephina is 4 months old already.Isabella had to show me her pets that she had,I knew they had Rose (the Dog) but she showed me a couple of more. She told me that there are dragon flies, and pretty birds, didn't see any birds, but I did find the Dragon Flies. I found the frogs, you need to look close,( click on the picture to make it bigger), there are 2 of them, in the pond. These geese were in his back yard, until Isabella went out side to chase them away! She loves chasing them back into the Lake! Then we played, it was a beautiful day.

My Texas Vacation

My vacation started August 14 when I left Chicago and flew to Frisco, Texas, It was a trip that I needed and didn't think I needed. I did many different things, Sandy and Ken had a party for my birthday! Red Velvet Cupcakes! We went out on Matt's boat very refreshing, for that day it was very hot and the water blowing in your face felt good.

We went to the Mesquite Rodeo, I love the rodeo, me in a cowboy hat!

This was one of the many Bull riders that we saw, they are all so young! I did manage to find a cowboy for Andrea! Bronco Rider Bull Rider Fort Worth Stockyards, One of my favorite places to visit when I go to Texas! The Cattle Drive, twice a day, they have a cattle drive down the streets of Fort Worth. John Wayne and me? The Stockyard Inn....Home of Buffalo Butt Beer Yes, a long time ago the tail on the buffalo was the tapper! I didn't like the beer. I love Shinners. Texas Sculpture Garden-Frisco Beautiful place Japanese Gardens, a very peaceful place, I could have spent the whole day there. Zen Garden, Some how I would have managed to leave footprints!

Koi fish they knew you where there with food! Waterfall Mary K. Umstead Teahouse Blue Heron waiting for his dinner. Mikoshi Moon Bridge Randy White's for BBQ I had a wonderful 2 weeks! Spent time in the pool, when it was too hot to go anywhere, I did manage some cross stitching, and to relaxed!

Boy, I am behind! Haven't written anything in over a month! My brother got me a ticket to go with him, my dad and his daughter, to a Chicago White Sox game, for my birthday in August! It was Elvis Night and he thought I would enjoy it since I am an Elvis fan! We had a lot of fun till the rains came! We did end up winning! Doug Church and Me! Sarah and Me, she gave me Elvis glasses for my birthday! They did say Elvis Night! Bring in the flag!Another favorite player-Paul Konerko Two of my favorite players! A.J. Pierzynski and Mark Buehrle One of my favorite players-A.J. Pierzynski The down pour, an hour delay for the game! We left before the game started again, it was getting late.

We had to put Harley to sleep on Monday, he went over the Rainbow Bridge, it was very hard for me, but his legs just didn't want to carry him any more. He is with Joe now, enjoying each others company. Harley lived a good life he was 12 years old, I will miss him, He was my buddy, laid at my feet when I was sewing and cross stitching.

At The Races

Amanda, my DIL, took me to Arlington Race Track, on May 1st, she said I needed to get out, talk about knowing nothing about the horses, except that they run on 4 horse power (4 legs)! I don't know about how they rate them 10 -1, 1-1, they give you a little run down about the horse and Jockey, how they run on grass, dirty, in the rain, about the jockey, still didn't make sense, she thought it was funny. I told her that I could tell her about the races in NHRA Drag Racing, points standings, crew chief, 8,000 horse power, quarter mile, 1,000 feet, burn out, final eliminations, but I don't know anything about the horses! So any way, this is how it went, Dad gave me his money picked out his horses that morning, ( he got most of his money back, gave me $50.00, got back $35.00) so we where off to the races! First, you need to hear this story, it will make sense out of what horse I picked! When Joe was in the hospital, and was starting to come out of coma or what ever he was in, they said with all the toxins in his systems, he would be hallucinating, well the one that he kept saying was that he had a horse to the day he died. I took a picture of Joe with his cowboy hat the last time we went to Texas, and called it "Cowboy at Heart" he loved his cowboy hat! Well, in the 5th race, there was a horse with the name "Cowboy at Heart" standings were 5-1 what ever that meant, so I put $2.00 to win, place and show, Amanda did the same thing, #7 in the orange, well he came in 2nd, didn't win much, but we knew it was Joe and that damn horse of his! The probable favorites were 3-1-10-8, mine was #10, the horse that came in first was #5 he was 10-1, go figure!

As far as stitching goes, I haven't picked up the needle in about a week! I haven't been in the mood to stitch. I have been working in the yard getting my flowers planted.

Stitching

This is my new stitching project. It's from Linen Flowers.

This is how far I got, can't really see the color of the fabric, but it is very close to the color in the picture. Now that I have enough projects started, I am hoping to get something at least finished before the year ends.

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

How my life with Joe began

Joe, always with a smile on his face!

Joe and I went to Grammar school together, and he lived 2 blocks away, the problem was, we didn't like each other back then. After graduation, 1966, he went to Gage Park and I went to Lourdes. We didn't see each other the whole time till my Jr. year, when my girlfriend and I were in the park, he was there playing football, he played Semi-Pro Football, he remembered my girlfriend, who we both, went to grammar school with, but not me, he said he couldn't place me in school with him. Well, I made her go with me every Sunday for the next few weeks to watch them play football, till he asked me out. My first date with him, we went to the Antique Auto Show, he didn't always have a car, so we took what he called the "green and yellow sedan" the bus! Our dates were, to say the least, fun, he was a nut! I was trying to figure out if there was serious side to him! I had made up my mind that I couldn't go out with him, I wanted someone who could be romantic, he was always a clown but he kept asking me out and I kept saying yes, I thought maybe I would meet someone else, but after a few dates, he was starting to grow on me, we couldn't be apart.We went to my prom in 1970, we never went to his, he finished High School, by going to Night School, he was asked to leave during his Senior Year, because he told a teacher he wasn't happy with the grade she had given him, during that time, he was working in a garage, and our Friday or Saturday night date was sitting and talking to all the guys and their girlfriends at the garage. From there Joe took to to the NHRA Drag Races, I liked the smell of nitro, I was hooked from the first race, and I'm still hooked, went to baseball games! I learned about cars, small block and big block engines, how to fix them, change tires, how to wash car windows, you always knew when I did them, ton of streaks! He talked about trains & trucks. It was about that time that I knew I wanted to marry him. Always a smile on his face, and he made me happy. We got engaged on Christmas, 1970, and were married August 19, 1972. My engagement ring was wrapped in 5 boxes, one smaller than the last one, when I got to the ring box it was empty! He was holding it in his hands, and asked me to marry him! Planning the wedding and looking for our first apartment was very exciting, I left him to pick out the Tux, What he came back with, I just couldn't believe my eyes, that this was the Tux he wanted, I cried, but looking back if he had picked something else it wouldn't of been him! The tux was Joe. He didn't care what the apartment looked like, he just said make it us. We lived in that apartment on 79th St. till 1978, many friends came through those doors, some came and some stayed the weekend, we didn't care, they were friends. We had a few other apartments, but it wasn't till we moved to our apartment on Karlov, that our dream came true, and we adopted our Twins, David and Andrea in 1983.

The kids were our life, when he went over the road with his truck driving job, and got home on Friday night, I didn't see the kids the whole weekend, they were with him the whole time, don't get me wrong, we went out as a family, but the kids were his, till he left on Sunday night again. The kids grew, went to school, Joe still drove a truck, David got married. Andrea had Miranda, David and Amanda, had Isabella, those were his girls, his pride and joy. We had many wonderful vacations, parties, wonderful time with the kids, and a lifetime of memories! Some good, some bad, but it wouldn't have been a marriage with out that. I will miss him, he was my best friend, my buddy, my lover, he laughed at my dumbest jokes, I will miss not be able to grow old with him! Our road trips, that always started out with fights, and him always giving in to me, one look from him with his smile I knew I could get my way! I wonder if this is how we would have looked!

Joe went to the ER on February 15, 2010, for back pain and pain in his left arm, at one point we thought he would be coming home, found out his liver was giving him problems, and not filtering like it should have been, with that not working, the kidneys weren't doing their job the correct way, his lungs started filling with fluid. It seemed that what ever the doctors where trying, it would work with one organ and not the other. Joe put up a good fight, but in the end he was tired.

Weird Wednesday

Here is what I have been working on at the hospital, along with my personal sampler, this is from Linen Flowers called "Love Never Faileth" a wedding gift for a niece. I still have another wedding gift to make , a dear friend's daughter got engaged yesterday, so I will be making another, at the moment I don't have an idea of what that one will be. This is what it looks like! This is how far I have gotten, I thought this might have been a "stitch and rip" I had to rip a few times because of my miscounting! Just need to wipe off my starting point, it's stitched on 25 count evenweave, over 2. Joe is still in the hospital, doing good in PT, although he would say he's not, but yesterday he took 10 steps in the morning and another 10 when I was with him in the afternoon. I am going to find some medals, and give them to him. They are trying to get him now to bend his knees and pick up his feet when he walks. He has come a long way, since he went in for a back pain on Feb. 15, 2010, when all the problems started. He still has a long way to go, but he is a fighter and I know we will make it.

I really thought that I was going to have more done than this, sitting in the hospital with Joe, I figured I could cross stitch, but with Doctors coming in and out...didn't have that much time. I will keep taking it with me to the hospital, stitching on it when I have time. This is page 1, which is almost done, I think 11 pages more to go.

Last Week's Weird Wednesday

We had to go for some Liver test for Joe, my mind is just going crazy! His legs are doing very well! We are happy about that, the doctor called and said there was nothing to worry about with his results from the MRI, still did not answer the questions as to where this might have started from, he thinks he might of had it for a long time and just acted up, So I asked him, do you think this is from any of the new meds that he started taking? He never did tell us. Well, the doctor did say that Joe had a midi stroke in his eye, last Saturday, we went to the eye specialist on Saturday, he said that there is movement in the blood vessels and that he will get his eye sight back, he can see out of the bottom half, missing about a foot to the ceiling. We go back in 2 weeks. Just waiting for the liver doctor to call with an appointment. This is just so stressful, I thought the legs were bad, Joe is getting so tired of this.

Andrea, went to court about Miranda, didn't do any good, the Judge wants to appoint a Lawyer to Miranda, more money and talk to her how she is being treated in the 2 house holds! What is a 3 year old going to say? Nothing was settled about where she will live when she gets into school! The Judge was an ass. Andrea said, she wouldn't let her or Brian's lawyer say anything. Our Tree

We had Christmas with Miranda on Christmas Day, before she had to leave to go to her dad's, she must have been a good little girl, she sure did get enough!

We went to my brothers' first to visit Nick who had to leave that night to go back home to Minnesota, my brother Marty, always get the unusual gifts, they all love them!Even my dad got the unusual! Here's a picture of my Dad with hair! This was one of the gifts that was going into the garbage game that we play, he had to try it on first. He doesn't look bad as a blonde. Then we were off to have a fried Turkey! Boy was it good! Done! Dinner was good!

I got the "SnowFlake" finished into a no sew cube! I need it for a birthday gift this weekend, I hope she will like it. I love the colors, that doesn't mean she will. What I am Stitching on

I am working on a model stitch for Vee using Sulky Threads. I love working with it and the design is coming out nice. I am going to start sewing my Christmas gifts after Thanksgiving, I am making the guys cozy warps for their beer. I made my SIL's the gifts the last few years this year its for the men.

News on The Home Front

We moved David and Amanda into there new home October 31st 2009, I like the house a lot, the house is nice ,and as long as they are happy with it that is all that counts! I took the girls Trick or Treating that afternoon, they had fun.

They were Hanna Montana and a Ladybug. This is the back of the house. And then we have the view from the windows. There was a Full Moon, just wish I could have seen it come up. One last note I will be posting my PIF again in the Spring! So keep a look out for it! I guess with the Holidays coming, I didn't have many takers.

I made this for my girlfriend Dorothy, who loves to Quilt as much as I love to cross stitch. The pattern came from: Vee at www.veeandco.com. I will give it to her when we take our little trip to The Lake of The Ozarks, MO this weekend. I hope the colors will be nice, this is my favorite time of the year! Plus I do miss our visit with our friends! I loved this charm! some of the charms that I added to the finish!

News on the Home front!

My son and DIL will be having a new baby to go along with their new house! New baby will here in June. We are praying for a healthy baby with no heart problems like Isabella. They move into their new house Halloween weekend!

Stitching

I did start my personal sampler over! I am very happy with the fabric and colors now! This is a picture of what the sampler will look like when I get it finished, I talked to the designer and she told me that she will be able to add the new baby! I am happy about that! This is how far I got after I started over. Here is a list of the colors I will be using. The leaves are " Weeks Dye Works" Adobe Top of Acorns is DMC 111 The botton is DMC 300 The inside is DMC 400 some backstitching in DMC 301 The Fabric is M.C.G. 32 ct Linen Soft Natural worked over 2 the finish size will be 30 x30. This has to be finished by my 40th Wedding Anniversary! I better get my butt in gear and start working on this. I only did one other project in Linen, a very small piece, so I hope I started this one on the correct thread, if not I am not going to start over again!

New finish! I am going to be turning this into a no sew cube! I think I am still getting used to the colors that I used, but I have winter fabric and ribbon that will match it, I guess I will have to see how it looks when I finish it. This pattern is from Vee and Co. On the other hand news in the household is that David and Amanda bought a house, we are so happy for them, their closing date is October 29. They will be moving in Halloween weekend. It is a cute house with a big yard.

I got a UFO finished! A Dolly Mama, by Joey. It's for Andrea, she is my Drama Queen, and I think Miranda is starting to take after her! I don't know how I want to finish it yet, I have a few other projects that are waiting to get finished. I am trying to work on some Christmas gifts, why, I always start late, I will never know, I think about what I want to make all summer, but never start, now I hurry and try to get everything done. Plus I want to make a few things for my son and DIL, they just brought a house and have some empty wall space! I need to get my butt in gear and start working. I also want to sew, why I think of these things at the last moment, of what I want to get done..... next year, I am starting early!

Labor Day

We had some of the family over for a cook out, my kids, and my sister and her family. We had a good time, the 2 girls, wanted to eat all of the red tomato's off of the plant, we had to wipe them off and they ate them, right away, my Tomato Queens! Joe was giving rides in the wagon, the dog was having fun, walking along side of them. Even Jaclyn got in on the parade, she had the way too small little bike! They went all around the yard, it's not that big, but just the right size for Joe, so his legs won't start to hurt, and give out on him. He sat all day Monday with his legs up. The rest of them played cards or just sat around and did nothing! I did my relaxing on Monday!

Stitching!

I did some stitching on my personal sampler, I do wish I would have used the fabric I wanted, I want to start it over, I am very sorry that I did it on 18 ct Aida, I wish I would have used that piece of 32ct. Evenweave! Even if it was just an Natural color. Stay tune to see if I start it over! I only have 1/2 of the first page done, so not too much was finished.

Halloween Fun

Stitching

Right now I am working on a special project, I need to get it done by Thursday to get it in the mail, by Friday. Then hoping to work on my personal sampler, I didn't get any work done on that in a month! Before I know it the 2 years will be up and I'll have no 40th Anniversary gift for Joe. I got the frame for the Marines Tree that I stitched, and it is on its way to the person I made it for.

That's right, we got the fence painted on Saturday, July 25! It looks so much better, now we are moving on to the garage! Which needs a paint job worse then the fence! Looks nasty, doesn't it! With both of us painting it didn't take that long, but of course I had the bottom half of the fence! The color is red and looks pretty good. Joe did spill the paint, in the alley, looks like someone was killed out there I just love how it looks now that it is finished! Looks Good!

Miranda's First Camping Trip-07/24/09

Andrea and Miranda went camping this past weekend with my brother, his girlfriend Christina, and Micah, her daughter. They said they had a wonderful time! Christina and Micah. Andrea Miranda had a good time during the day, she was out for the count on the first night, but got up when a storm hit. They had a wonderful time, they went fishing, walked in the river, got a turtle, and went for a hike. Micah and the turtle. In the river Marty took Miranda fishing, with her Dora fishing pole, you would not believe what she got at the end of her hook! No, not that fish, she got something better! She was so happy! A 7 pound, 14 inches long Large Mouth Bass! She even wanted to take it off the hook. Look out Babe Winklemen! Here comes Miranda! I would have loved to go camping with them, but I just can't picture my body getting up in the morning from sleeping on an air mattress!

Eye Sore!

About a month ago I called the City of Chicago's 311 non-emergency number, about this eye sore behind our house. Gang Bangers and a few hookers did their work behind the truck, we called the police a few times about that. Actually they were fast enough to catch a few of them and took them off to jail. Well, they told me that they will put the address on the list, and look into it, they are behind in their work. I let it go, a week ago our Aldermen had an article in the paper about weeds over 10 inches tall in vacant lots, well, this lot isn't vacant there is a store there "Cricket" who are renting the space from the owner of the building. I called her and sent pictures, told her about 311 call and what they said. Within a day she had an inspector out and both parties were fined and ticketed. The next day we had the tow truck out. Now we are waiting for the weeds to get cut down! I think they have 14 days and then the inspector comes out again and more tickets and fines, until they are gone and they must be kept no higher than 10 inches.

My Girls/July 15, 2009

I had both girls last week, on July 15, they wore me out faster than they can wear themselves out, most likely they came with rechargeable batteries, once they hit the outside they recharge for hours! We made bracelets! Played outside, spilled bubbles, gave the frog a bubble bath,( not a real one, they took one of their toys from the sand box), after I washed away the bubbles. And all this time their rechargeable batteries were recharging, And recharging! still recharging! and we went for a walk to Baskin Robbins, right around the corner, from the house. For 88 cents, the cones were big, I didn't get one for I knew they would not finish theirs, or some of it would be on the floor, or on them, we had all 3! The girls enjoy the ice cream cones, till they saw, the Ice Cream Cakes! They wanted one of those cakes. It took time, but I told them I will make an ice cream cake for my birthday. By the end of the day, Isabella was running on empty! Her battery would not recharge!

I think, not just because she is my grand daughter, that she could be in years to come "America's Next Top Model" but it wouldn't be right for our family to have two, but we will take it, that is just the grandmother in me talking. All grandmothers know their grandkids are the best! Always a smile on her face, when Andrea was her age, she would not even look at the photographer without crying in the picture, over the years, and it wasn't till she was in 2nd grade, we got pictures with out tears in her eyes. Now I have to wait to get a picture of Isabella, hope they have a nice one to send me, she isn't in day care yet, so I will post a picture of her soon.

Busy Weekend with Friends

We had a very busy weekend, first we had a friend in from Huston, Dave, some one we don't see very often, maybe once a year, so we try to get all of us together, we had a BBQ at Judi and Dan's. A Long Lost Friend....Found

Over the years I have been searching for a very dear friend on the internet, we had lost touch with each after I had moved, I would look for a day, and forget about it again, this has been going on for years, till one day last year, I found a death notice, about her husband, what a way to find a friend, I printed out the notice, forgot about it, and came across it again a year later. I sent a card and put in my phone number and a picture of my family. It was about 3 weeks, and I didn't hear anything, thinking it was the wrong person. Joe and I were out for day, and she called, she left a message. That night she called again, we talked for hours, made plans to meet. It was funny because as many times as I thought of her, she said I would pop up in one of her dreams, and the week before she got the card, I was in her dream again. Well, this past Sunday we met! We had a wonderful visit! Her sister, Lorraine, was there and we talked about old times and the fun that we had. We are making plans to get together again soon. Sylvia, Me and Lorraine.

4th of July

We did some work around the house, got the fence ready to get painted, very easy job with the water pressure gun! Joe tackled that in the rain, while I was getting some snacks ready to bring to a friends in the evening. Now all we need to do it get this painted, before we tackle the garage. Which needs painting in the worse way. Andrea and Miranda, spent the weekend with David, Amanda and Isabella. I sure missed her being around, but it was good that she spend time with her cousin. We planted a Tomato plant in a topsy turby, this year, we have one tomato so far! That is better then the one we planted in a big planter. It seems that it is taking forever to turn red, but of course we had more rain than sun so far. STITCHING I am working on a model stitch right now, after that I want to work a little more on my sampler. Maybe even start a few Ornaments for Christmas.

Update on my Sampler

Here is an up date on my sampler, I was hoping to at least get a page done a month! I started this in April, first I couldn't make up my mind what fabric I wanted to use, I put a little stitching on each of the fabrics I had at home, with the color floss, I am now doing it on 16ct. Aida, that was my last choice, my first choice, which the lady at my LNS store said would be perfect, was not in my price line. I just need to get this done by August 2012. It doesn't look like I did anything, but that is almost a half page.

Summer Storm

A few days ago, we had a nasty storm, blowing in from all ends of the earth. I couldn't tell if the rain was coming from the South,North, East or West. We have a screen house in the yard, the wind made a huge whole in it. I was out there the next day with my floss and needle trying to sew it back together, it some how worked and I believe it will hold up the rest of the summer. My neighbors must have thought I was crazy, standing there in the heat, sewing the screen, little do they know how crazy I am. Now to figure out where I can buy a new screen, the frame is good, but the screen, has seen its last year.

I have it finished and it's posted on Vee's Web Site , this is the first time I made this type of a wall banner, I made a few no sew wall hangers, and of course I over stuffed this one it! I did the same thing with my Christmas Ornaments, last year!

Weekend Work!

I will be glad when this is done, and I can sit back and just enjoy it! This weekend we put the barrel out, had to put it back together, over the winter the nails in the bands rusted, and the barrel was in pieces! So we put new nails in the

bands, ones that won't rust! Just a little more work, and we should be done, then we have a bush on the side of the house that my dad wants taken out! So we start all over! I had ordered 2 Crape Mrytle trees, from a nursery ,which they claim are hardy for the Midwest winters! We shall see. Right now they are just twigs! Our first trip to Texas I fell in love with these trees, So when I found a company that said they can be grown in the hash Midwest winters I ordered 2, little did I know that they would send me 2 twigs.

It's been about 3 weeks and Joe said that they are growing! They also told us that if we wanted patio size trees to grow they in a good size pot, which we are doing.

George Strait, The King of Country Music! 57 number one hits! Had to watch the special that was on TV last night! He was good and so were the many performers that were there with him, for his Award "Artist of the Decade". I just didn't care for the outfit that Taylor Swift wore, with that nasty silver halo on her head, please don't tell me she thinks she can sing like an angel, could be I don't think she can sing at all! Other than that the show was great.

Holiday Weekend

We worked in the front yard, for the holiday weekend, our son came over to help us,we pulled out the bushes last summer, its an old picture nothing changed, just the bushes got bigger, they were almost to the bottom of the windows, and I hated going out there to trim them, was hard work getting them out, they planted them the year I got married, 37 years ago! The picture might be a bit dark,it was the only one I found. We are putting in some smaller plants! I think it will look much cleaner, when we get finished. We have a big wine barrel going in the middle of the house, I am hoping to get a rose tree to put in it, and then rest of the plants. We need to get the rest of the black fence put in, just had that there so the mulch wouldn't get into the grass, a roll or two of sod, some solar lights, so I would think we have another weekend of work a head of us! That is how we spent the holiday weekend! Will post another picture when we are finished!

Cup and Can Cozy

I made some Cup and Can Cozies from Kwik Sew the pattern was free, and I think I am going to make these for my family Christmas gift this year! Make each family 6 and give it to them with their favorite 6 pack, of course the kids will get pop! I have enlarged the pattern to fit the large bottle of water that I like to drink, being that each company makes a different size large bottle. I like the one with the wide month opening. I am going to work on a pattern for the small water bottles. This is what they look like.

I had made a few to give to my girlfriends husband for his beer cans. I never saw a man get so excited about can cozies! Of course I didn't make his out of this fabric.

Weekend Get Away!

Our weekend get away was great, something we all needed! I needed to see my friends, our friends from Texas, met us at the Ozarks, where we stayed with our friends that live in Camdenton, MO. On our little road trip. we ran across this sign on IL Route 72 . We had a travel budget, so going there and back we ate off the dollar menu at McDonalds! You got to love it! The weekend, always seems to end too soon, we always leave on a Friday, and come home on Monday, so we have Saturday and Sunday. We bring food with us so the expense isn't just on one person, and fast to cook, so us girls aren't in the kitchen all day and night! Gas was cheap in Camdenton, Missouri $2.04 a gallon, we left Chicago, and the price was $2.75 a gallon. I'm very glad that they live in the middle between us, 7 hours for us from, Chicago, IL and 8 hours from, Frisco, Texas.

We talked, played games, a new game that we played was " Apples to Apples " this game had us all laughing, we played this game all day taking breaks for dinner and to stretch our legs! Our friends from the Ozarks are in the middle of doing their landscaping for their house, they have a big job a head of them! They had beautiful trees by their driveway, over the 3 years that they have lived there, the trees have died, they had just cut them down on that Thursday. I am going to miss them and their fall colors!

I could sit on her deck all day and watch the birds, in the area, Humming birds, Woodpeckers, and the Blue Bird of Happiness! The Missouri State Bird.

What's New!

I am still working on the wedding gift right now, hoping to have it finished by next weekend, I need it for shower gift on June 7th.

We are going on a short little trip this weekend to visit friends in the Lake of the Ozarks, MO we haven't seen them since last October. So today I will try to get everything ready for our trip, I have a few sewing items I want to finish today, to bring with, who knows how far I will get. No motivation lately!

Our little Isabella will be having her heart surgery on June 4th, she was born with a heart anomaly known as right atrial isomerism. This is her second major surgery, not counting the smaller ones in between, her first heart surgery was a couple of weeks after she was born, and then last year around this time, was the second. We are hoping that after this one she won't need anymore for a few years, but this surgery also brings on all the heart meds that she will have to take the rest of her life. So if you can spare some extra prayers for her, this surgery is going to be a bit tougher than the last few. Plus yesterday David came over for Mothers Day because he had to work on Sunday, Bella didn't want to go home with him, she wanted to stay with me, so I told him to leave her and come back after Amanda got out of work. She has a mind of her own and when she wants to do something she does it no matter how many times you tell her NO! We were going outside I told her to take my hand going down the stairs, she couldn't wait for me, started down her self, she told me she was a big girl can do it on her own! Well, she fell down the last 3 steps, thank god she didn't get hurt, between her crying and mine, it was a sight. I felt so bad, they are never going to let that child stay with Grandma again! We called them up and told them, that she had no broken bones a little black and blue mark on her cheek. I am getting a bit to old for all this! Miranda came home from day care and was very happy Bella was still here,

they rode their bikes, and learned how to pedal themselves, they did not want to put them away, and come inside.

Went to a baseball game!

Saturday afternoon, after I got my weekly shopping done. My niece called and wanted to know if Andrea and I would like to join her at a Chicago White Sox game, she had 4 tickets. I haven't been to a baseball game in years! Andrea needed to get a babysitter for Miranda, but Grandpa Joe, said he could do that! So we went to the White Sox and Texas Rangers game! We had a girls night out!

Didn't make the goal I set

I didn't get my cross stitch done, that I set the date for, that was today, and I just didn't make it. I did make some great progress on it. I am setting another date for the end of the month. Next week I won't have too much time to stitch. I have some sewing that needs to be finished so next week is for sewing! The wedding gift is coming right along, it seems to be going fast since it's all back stitching. I need this finished by the end of this month also, so I will be able to get it framed and have for the shower, on June 6th. Sad to say I didn't work on my personal sampler.

My Princess Ragamuffin

My Princess Ragamuffin, got her first hair cut! She didn't like anyone to comb her hair, when she did, she took the pony tail out and let her hair fall all around her face! That is how she liked her hair! That is how she got her name Princess Ragamuffin! On Saturday, we took her to get her hair cut, her first hair cut, I thought Andrea was going to start crying as it was coming off! She didn't want anything to do with the cape around her neck! So she had hair everywhere, She looks so cute with her hair cut! We now can comb her hair, and leaves the one pony tail in! Even with out a pony tail it looks good! She looks beautiful!

A Finish that took me close to 9 years

I started this for my daughter about 9 years ago, everything was working fine....until I started putting in some of the beading, when I found a big mistake, I missed 3 rows across and 3 down, so the beading did not match up, I put it away, I was getting to mad, to work on it. Every once in a while I would pull it out, work on it again not going near the area with the mistake, and put it away again. This year I told myself mistake or not I am going to finish it! I had to recount the web so that it would line up and finish the bead work! I wanted to give it to Andrea for her birthday in March. I am trying to get everything I want on my blog. On Monday I want to post a few pictures from my sampler I am working on, it needs to be done for my 40th Anniversary, which is in 2012. Think I have enough time? I am working on a wedding gift, for a dear friend of mine, her son is getting married in July, this is from a freebie from San-Man. It only has 2 colors, I am doing it in 2 shades of Red, the brides colors. Till later
